Marion County School District Referendum: Renew the One-Mill Levy
Ballot summary
Marion County voters will decide whether to renew the school district's one-mill operating levy for four more years, July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2031, for safe schools, reading, physical education, art, music, early learning, library/media and vocational programs, class-size requirements and retaining certified teachers, with an independent citizens' oversight committee. Voters first approved the levy in 2014 and renewed it in 2018 and 2022.
A "Yes" vote means
A YES vote continues the one-mill levy, which raises about $41 million a year, through June 2031.
A "No" vote means
A NO vote lets it expire June 30, 2027.
