Each entry describes what the candidate has said or done, and what they say they will do, in neutral terms with sources. The chip shows how that relates to the statement voters rate in the matching tool.

Property taxes Strongly disagrees· stated position

Statement: "Florida should eliminate or sharply reduce homestead property taxes, even if local governments must cut services or find other revenue."

She opposes the 2026 property-tax amendment, calling it a political stunt and saying eliminating property taxes is not a responsible solution.

"Floridians deserve relief from rising costs, but eliminating property taxes is not a responsible solution."

Property insurance Leans agree· stated position

Statement: "The state should intervene more directly in the property-insurance market (rate caps, expanding Citizens, stricter insurer regulation) rather than relying mainly on market-based reforms."

She pledges to hold insurers accountable, increase rate-setting transparency and invest in resilience and hurricane hardening.

"I'll fight to hold insurance companies accountable, increase rate setting transparency, invest in resilience and hurricane hardenin[g]"

Housing affordability Strongly agrees· stated position

Statement: "Government should do more to make housing affordable (subsidies, zoning changes, rent measures)."

She would speed affordable-housing construction with state financing for developers, public-private partnerships, small-scale infill and a lower income cap for workforce housing.

Immigration Leans disagree· stated position

Statement: "Immigration enforcement should be stricter, including large-scale deportation of people in the country illegally."

She has spoken at Miami City Commission meetings against the city's 287(g) agreement with ICE.

Abortion Strongly agrees· stated position

Statement: "Abortion should be legal in most cases (Florida's six-week ban should be repealed or loosened)."

She supports restoring access to safe, legal abortion and wrote a 2023 op-ed saying the six-week ban violated her Catholic values.

"A six-week abortion ban is effectively a total ban on abortion. Most people do not even know they are pregnant at six weeks."

Health care Leans agree· stated position

Statement: "Government should expand its role in health coverage (expand Medicaid in Florida, extend Affordable Care Act subsidies)."

She supports expanding access to coverage, preventive care and patient navigators, and an Elder's Trust for seniors.

Environment & water Strongly agrees· stated position

Statement: "Protecting water quality, conservation land and climate resilience should take priority even if it slows development or raises costs."

In a VoteWater endorsement announcement posted Sept. 24, 2026, Romero Roses said development and construction policy directly affects water quality and public access to clean water, that Florida fails to enforce laws protecting its water supply and does not hold polluters accountable, and that she supports nature-based resilience and stronger enforcement.

"Today we fail to enforce laws that undermine our water supply, and even when we do, the measures are so pathetic that we fail to hold polluters accountable."

Growth & development Leans agree· stated position

Statement: "Growth and development should be slowed or more tightly regulated (higher impact fees, density limits, stronger local control)."

She supports restoring home rule, reforming Live Local into a grand bargain with communities, and smart growth.

Elections & voting Leans agree· stated position

Statement: "Voting should be made easier (mail voting, drop boxes, restoring voting rights) rather than adding new restrictions."

She would fund technology and interstate coordination to make citizenship records affordable and accessible.
